We started with Weston on August 23, 2010 Monday as well. He is starting his preK work, as he has never been in school before so everything is new to him.

English:
We started with the letter "A" today.
He traced the capital and lower case A and seemed to enjoy repeating it on his own. Then he circled the letter A that he found on the pages of pictures like Apple, Alligator, Alien.

Math:
He learned what a circle is as well as the number "0" zero.
He sees the similarity between the two.
He also circled "circles" and the number "0" on pages I printed as well as ones I pulled out of his learning books.

Art:
We learned about the color "green". He colored the green alligators and also changed when he wanted to color the water blue, he knew the difference.
Geography:
He listed as Morgan and I talked about living in Oklahoma. I just want him familiar with hearing it so learning in the next couple of years will be easier.

Science:
The same goes with learning Day and Night. He understands that we wake up in the Day and go to bed in the Night. And that it's light during Day and dark during Night. This is a good beginning for his age.

I also has him tell me about the foods he likes to eat, we made a list and talked about whether they were healthy or not.

Music:
We read/sang "The Ants Go Marching On", as to stay with the letter "A" theme for the week. He got in the rhythm of things as I read/sang the song to him. He pretended to march right along!

Writing:
We are starting with "tracing" going from beginning to end. He traces over the lines to strengthen his ability to move the pencil where he wants it to go.
