MORGAN
To get back in the swing of schoolwork, we kept it simple today.
Daily:
We did the Pledge of Allegiance, had her write her full name, the day and date of today with the year, then her address, her phone number, how old she is, when her birthday is, her mom's name, her dad's name, and her dad's phone number. This is something we will do everyday until she can recite it herself as well as write it herself.
Today I let her write the entire alphabet in lower case and capital letters on "indention paper" where all you have to do is follow the lines on how to make your letters correctly. I can see we need improvement with some letters. So daily we will be writing our letters until they are correct.
I had Morgan count as far as she could go on her own. She got to 30, but I was not convinced she felt strongly about remembering the numbers she learned last year in Kindergarten so we will continue to work on them.
We talked about where we live, the state of Oklahoma. We will be learning about our own state first.
Science:
We are going to be starting on learning the difference between Day and Night. We briefly talked about it today, figuring out how much she knows about the differences.
Health:
We are starting with the introduction to food and healthy eating. We talked about things we like to eat and whether Morgan thinks it is healthy or not.
Spelling:
We are starting with the small words in the first reader book. The words are: to, the, a, and, is, look. This will continue for the entire week.
Reading:
Our first reader book which I printed off the computer is "Zac the Rat", which will be using the above spelling words in the book.
